Frank Ashton Parkin (1887–1954)

Notes
Born in 1887 at Fritchley, Frank was a clerk who attested at Derby in January 1915 aged twenty-seven, unmarried and employed at the Midland Railway. He was promoted to Corporal in June 1915 but in May 1917 he was suffering with defective teeth, had discharge from his ear, had Valvular Disease of the Heart (VDH) and deafness. He was posted to the Army Reserve to work on munitions with the Midland Railway Coy at Derby before being demobbed in December 1918.

He attested 11/01/15 at Derby, aged 27 years 9 months, unmarried living at Fritchley. Employed by Midland Railway Co Derby. The next of kin was his father John James Parkin of Fritchley. Frank was 5ft 7in tall.
