Biography
Charles enlisted in 1915 and served mostly in Palestine and Egypt. He arrived home in 1919 after over three years without leave. After demob he married Margaret Ellen Bradshaw in 1919 and lived at Robin Hood, Whatstandwell, where he was actively involved with Whatstandwell F.C. He worked as a stone mason for twenty-six years, later working as a labourer and roadman.

CRICH, LEA, AND HOLLOWAY
Sapper Charles Greenhough of Whatstandwell, who has been serving with the RFA for about four years mostly in Palestine and Egypt
arrived home a few day ago. It is over three years and a half since he was on leave. Pte Walter Bunting of Robin Hood, Whatstandwell, has also arrived home
