Biography
Edwin was born in 1877 in Ramsbottom, Lancashire where his father (also Edwin) was a licensed victualler. He moved to South Darley then to Crich. His father became licensee of the Black’s Head Inn, Wirksworth. Edwin married Emma Proctor in 1900 and they moved to Fairfield, Buxton. He was a skilled stone mason and family recollections suggest he worked on carving the cherubs at Buxton Opera House. His wife died died in 1937
