From the Roll it seems he served with the 10th Sherwoods. No definitive Army Record or census record for him has yet been found.
Notes:
Of the A. Rowley men who served with the Foresters all seemed to have survived the war.15452 Albert Rowley – Logically he is the man but he is listed as 12th battalion. His Medal index card could indicate another battalion for his British War and Victory medals.
61005 Arthur Rowley – although this man served with the 17th and 9th Battalions.
2634 Albert Rowley, of the 2nd Battalion, who was transferred into the Machine Gun Corps with No 140990.
37904 Albert V Rowley is listed as in the 10th Battalion, although only the initial A is on the roll of honour.
No man named Albert Rowley has been found in the local birth records nor in the 1901 and 1911 census.
